TOO HOT FOR THEATERS? BUY THIS ON DVD it is really great, delivering on how TED HOPE pitched it “TAXI DRIVER in tights,” and I can only hope it reaches its destiny as a CULT CLASSIC! This movie takes the superhero genre and turns it upside down, making the film extremely hard to categorize, it is operating on so many levels:
As a superhero film it KICKS ASS: It’s gruesome violence contrasted with familiar comic book style action sequences build to a strong emotional impact: Rainn Wilson and Ellen Page’s performances are unbelievable, humanizing their characters and take us on their ride some how managing to keep us rooting for them: Lastly, the film organically weaves an interesting social commentary on the views of middle America and the media dealing with crises of faith, violence and sex…. basically it’s a great film!
